Merino wool offers so much more comfortable to your little one
Your little one cannot regulate his or her body temperature yet as you can as an adult. This wool creates its micro-climate around your baby. This way he or she always has a constant temperature!
Merino wool breathes much better than regular cotton and other synthetics. This allows the moisture to evaporate better and prevents your baby from overheating. What bliss!

Does merino wool itch?
Merino wool, in contrast to regular wool, does not itch at all. Now you may think 'Ow, strange because it will always remain wool'. True, but merino wool has a higher density, which means that there are more wool hairs per square meter.
The hair with this type of wool is up to 10 times thinner than with normal sheep hair. It feels much softer for your baby and thus prevents irritation to the skin.
Wash merino: Please no
Super important! Wash your merino wool textiles as little as possible. This type of wool is self-cleaning and odor-resistant. With intensive use, this fabric does not smell and that is of course super handy! What you do is let the Hvid products 'air out'.
Now you may be thinking 'self-cleaning, how is that possible?'. It may sound crazy, but it is true! That's because merino wool contains lanolin. When this substance gets damp, the lanolin converts to lanolin soap, a natural antibacterial agent.
This is also super handy with milk scents. Bacteria play a major role in foul odors, so your flamingo will keep smelling fresh. YAY! Perfect for children with sensitive skin with the antibacterial function in the wool.
Handwash only
Would you like to wash your Hvid baby items? Use a wool detergent and hand wash or wool wash program, certainly no fabric softeners! You certainly do not put your Hvid items in the dryer.
Of course, the more often you wash this fabric, the less lanolin. That in turn provides less protection.
Our advice? Wash as little as possible, only by hand, and let it air out a lot. Also a handy tip: Hang the textile in a damp bathroom after showering.
