Not too big, not too small. Although it looked bigger in the photo. Rings are also eagerly used here to bite. Draws less dust and dirt then soft silicone, easier to make it too.
Maybe the only downside, the rod is tapered, so that the rings can only be in the correct order, the creativity still obstructs what (read: baby knows from big to small yet). You can also have a nice drumming. : D
